My First (Non-Rag) Quilt

So I have just graduated from rag quilts to traditional quilts. I've been so inspired by the multitudes of beautiful quilts that can be seen all over the internet, as well as the quilting show I attended a few weeks ago.

One of the first ones I bookmarked for future use was this one -

This is the Whimsy: Charm Pack Baby Quilt I found over at Sew 4 Home.

Not only is it pretty, but it seemed like a relatively easy quilt. Exactly what a beginner quilter, like me, needed to get my feet wet.

Lucky for me, I finally got the opportunity to make a quilt like this one when my future sister-in-law announced that she was pregnant with a baby girl.

So I bought myself a pretty charm pack and some fabric and got to work.

If any of you are a Facebook fan of mine, you know exactly how long I was working on this :op

It's not difficult, I promise. Just time consuming (like all quilting is). Plus I'm working on like 8 projects at once, so I kept stepping away from this one to work on others, so it took a while.

I just love the combo of vintage and modern floral prints. Not to mention the nice, soft colors. Perfect for a little girl, but no so babyish that she outgrows it quickly.

It was a great starter quilting project! I can't to try my hand at some others! :o)
