And babies need a lot of stuff anyway, so I'm just doing my part to help out :o)
So this latest project was one I found at Cluck Cluck Sew. How genius is this?? A diaper/wipes carrier that is also a portable changing pad?! (Cuz who really knows whats on the changing tables you find in the restrooms?)
I followed this tutorial and created this:
The tutorial calls for chenille, minky, or heavy flannel. Minky is nice, but it was a bit too expensive for me. I couldn't find any chenille (at least at the small fabric store that I went to), and I didn't really see any flannel that I thought would really cushion the baby.
So I found some quilt backing and got that. It's soft and cushy and perfect for baby!
Then it folds up and off you go! Great for a family on the move!

This is a wonderful tutorial, I really like how you used the quilt backing. Great job and thank you for sharing.
I just happened upon your blog. I wish I knew someone having a baby so I could make this for them! Definitely bookmarking it. Great job!
I love the idea of using quilt backing! How cute! Thanks for the tip. I may just have to give that a try.
Oh how I wish I would have something like this--what a great idea for a gift.
What a great project. I wish I would have found it a while ago. I think my youngest on will be out of diapers before I get a chance to make something like this. I found you on the weekend blog hop. Check me out if you get a chance http://diyhshp.blogspot.com

Great job and the fabric you chose is cute!
I love this idea. How simple. Thanks for sharing. I am visiting from Under the Table Dreaming.
A changing pad is one of those baby products that you just slip into a diaper bag and forget about it. Then there's the explosion, the crying, and the frantic search for a good place to put on a new diaper.
