Tweet Tweet!

One day I was searching the internet for ideas for centerpieces for my wedding reception. Since my theme is "lovebirds", I put that term into google image search to see what I could find. After going through pages and pages of images, I stumbled across a picture of a really cute little fabric bird. I thought, "I could incorporate little birds like this into my centerpieces!" I clicked the link and it took me to etsy.com, a website where people can buy and sell handmade jewelry, art, and other trinkets. The cute bird I was looking at was being sold for $50! The bird was cute, but I don't know about $50 cute!

However, I really liked this bird idea, and wasn't going to give it up that easily! So I searched the web, and found a blog from named lifeingrace, which not only tells you how to make these cute little birds, but actually gives you a pattern to follow!

So I bought some super cute fabric and got started. I think they turned out really, really well. They are super cute and I love them!

Of course, once the creative juices got started, I just couldn't stop! I started making bird ornaments (sans feet) and giving them to some friends and family as Christmas presents. And yes, for those of you counting, that does mean that I was doing my "lovebird" search before FH actually proposed. What can I say? I like to plan ahead. :o)

I still have plenty of birds to make for the wedding, but thankfully I have plenty of time. Who knows? Maybe after this is all over you'll see my birds on etsy . . . but maybe for a bit cheaper! :o)
