It's Not Easy Being Green!

And by green, I mean a green-eyed monster! That's right . . . I'm jealous! You would be too if you were in my place. But let me start at the beginning . . .

Lately, my creative juices have been on overdrive. All I can think about is which of my many projects I want to tackle next. Of course it doesn't help to read all the wonderful "crafty" blogs that can be found, filled to the brim with ideas, ideas, and more ideas! It all just makes me so excited!! And then I actually try to tackle some projects . . .

My problem is my work space, or lack thereof. I don't have space to work! Most of my projects get done in the living room . . . on the coffee table. Sometimes, if the project is a bit larger in scale or difficulty, I spring for using the dining room table! And then of course, at the end of the day, whether I'm done or not, I have to pick everything up and put it all away, so we can actually use our spaces for their previously intended purposes. I suppose this is why I haven't scrapbooked in a while. It's too difficult to drag everything out, work on it (sometimes hunched over the coffee table or on the floor for hours), and then stash it all away again. All I can think is, "Wouldn't it be nice if I had my own craft room?"

In this tiny house I call home, there is no conceivable space for such a dream. My "craft room" is really more of a "craft closet"! Seriously . . . this is where I keep my stuff. In the office . . . in the closet. And really, this is just my scrapbooking supplies! My other supplies are stashed all over; wherever I can find room for them. My sewing supplies and fabrics are in the laundry room. My paint, brushes, glue gun, etc. are all in the garage. My sewing machine? In the storage room. Having no place to craft is frustrating. Having to send a search party to try and dig out the stuff I need is just the cherry on top. I don't even know half of what I have because it's too hard to see, find, retrieve! I try and keep what I do have, as organized as humanly possible. Alike supplies, kept together (in separate labeled containers, if possible). But it all feels like I'm just putting a band-aid on a gun shot wound! Wouldn't it be nice if I had my own craft room?

So one day, I was pursuing through Today's Creative Blog and came upon a post just gushing over craft rooms she saw on a different blog called Crafty Storage. This blog is all about creative ways to store your supplies and showcases hundreds of craft rooms by various people! Here are some of my favorites:

This one comes from HELLOmynameisHeather. How gorgeous is this room?!? I'm not even a "pink walls" kind of girl, but . . . WOW!! If I had a craft room like that, I'd think I''d have died and gone to heaven!! Heather is one lucky lady!!

Holy storage! Jennifer McGuire, ink. has all the space any crafter would need! Can you imagine all the crafting that you could do in that room? I could have everything color coded and alphabetized with all those drawers and shelves. I'd never have to dig for anything again!

. . . just Laura  doesn't have just any old craft room . . . look at all the crafting space! That counter unit is HUGE!! Not to mention tons of shelving! Who wouldn't want a room like this? If only . . .

Scrapiness has this "green" room. Seriously?! How cute is this? Tons of counter space . . . storage galore . . . and cute decor! I think I could live with this :o)

This one came from a member of the Two Peas in a Bucket community. I'm not gonna lie. This room makes me drool a little bit. Wow, wow, wow! A pace for everything, and everything in it's place. It's a dream come true!! If only I could have one *sigh*

After viewing all these fantastic, gorgeous, wonderful rooms I was a little jealous . . . OK a lot jealous!! Who wouldn't be??? I could almost cry think about these beautiful and functional spaces in comparison to my "craft closet". Maybe someday . . . A girl can dream, can't she?

Wouldn't it be nice if I had my own craft room? Yes! Yes it would!

Jenny!
I'm sorry you don't have the craft room you lust after, you definitely deserve it! What if you took the closet doors off the closet put some stuff on the shelf and put a little table in there? Do you have room for that? Hmm something to think about. :)
